私たち日本人がこの様な貴族のガラス器を使用してキャビアを食べるのは少し滑稽に映るかも知れません。

もちろん観賞用に購入したのですが、このキャビアサーバーを使用できる位、毎日心にゆとりがあればそれはそれで素晴らしいことです。

この様なオーラの強い西洋文化のモノを自然に扱うのは、相当難しいです。

敗戦により今度は「民主主義」「個人主義」と言う国の根幹をなす物を、敗戦の思考停止状態のまま受け入れる事になります。

自ら勝ち取ったモノでは無い「背骨」で、日本人は歩いて行かなくてはいけなくなりました。

個人主義が絶対的に良い訳ではありませんが、「自分」「個人」を尊重する事は古美術品を楽しむ上では必要不可欠です。

「皆んなが良いと思うなら自分も良いと思う。」では、全くつまらないです。

上質なアンティークを収集、鑑賞する事は理想的な表現で言えば「高尚な遊び」です。

「自分本位」で大いに楽しみ、自分だけの「美」を見出し、その喜びに浸りましょう。

それが、たまたま誰かと一緒だったら嬉しいですよね。

色々購入して行く内には失敗することも出てきますが、その体験も「高尚な遊び」と微笑む事が出来れば良いですね。

It may seem a little ridiculous for us Japanese to eat caviar using such aristocratic glassware.

Of course, I bought it for viewing purposes, but it would be great if I had enough free time every day to use this caviar server.

It is quite difficult to deal with things from Western culture, which have such a strong aura, naturally.

After the unequal treaties at the end of the Edo period, the Japanese continued to accept “Western justice” and “Western culture,” and their helplessness and anger built up, leading the country to enter a world war.

Due to defeat in the war, we will now accept the foundations of our country, such as “democracy” and “individualism,” in a state of cessation of thought.

Japanese people now have to walk with a “backbone” that they did not earn themselves.

Individualism is not an absolute good thing, but respecting “oneself” and “individuality” is essential to enjoying antique art.

“If everyone else thinks it’s good, I think it’s good too.” It’s completely boring.

Collecting and appreciating high-quality antiques is ideally described as “a noble pastime.”

Be self-centered, have fun, find your own beauty, and immerse yourself in that joy.

I would be happy if it happened to be with someone else.

As you purchase various things, you may make some mistakes, but it would be nice if you could smile and think of the experience as “noble play.”
